Exchange preemption warrants, nos.1-404, March 8, 1780 - December 9,1808.

These records contain original preemption warrants which were returned to the Land Office for exchange. Dated and signed by the register of the Land Office, they contain the name of the claimant and record the amount of land due and the reason why it is due. In some instances, supplemental papers of explanation pertaining to the exchange accompany the. warrant.
